Panasonic launches T41, P41 and P61 smartphones with Android 4.4 Kitkat


Panasonic on Wednesday launched three dual-SIM smartphones in the Indian market. Panasonic T41, Panasonic P41 and Panasonic P61 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS will be available in the market at Rs. 7,990, Rs. 11,990 and Rs. 14,990 respectively. All three models are powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor.

Speaking on the latest launch, Mr. Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India said, “The mobility landscape in India is rapidly evolving driven by factors such as improving mobility infrastructure and lowering prices of technology. In line with this, the company offers a range of mobility solutions catering to the entire spectrum of its consumers. One of the key focus areas for Panasonic India is to build a strong connect with the consumers by bringing alive brand experiences through our innovative product line up. The models thus resonate with the consumer’s pulse and passion, mirroring their preference for on- the-go smart solutions thus empowering our consumers.”

The phones offer Glide play feature that enables apps to pop-out and glide along from one screen to the other. These devices also sport other features seen in Panasonic phones including Pop-i Player, Music Cafe and Gesture Play+. The newly launched smartphones come with freebies.

Pankaj Rana, business head, smart phones and tablets, Panasonic India said that they would continue to bring an exciting range of smartphones which are driven by consumer insights and cater to the needs of the market. "We hope to further strengthen our position in the smart phone segment in the coming months, as we plan to launch more phones," Rana added.

Panasonic T41 is the budget handset that sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×400 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired coupled with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot. The makers have added a 1,650mAh battery fitted inside. There's a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, alongside VGA front-facing shooter for selfies. The connectivity options on the phone are follows: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dual-SIM, amongst others. The phone is priced at Rs. 7,990.

The P41 flaunts a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 2,000mAh battery and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is priced at Rs 11,990.

Panasonic P61 is a metal-body phablet, according to the company. It has metal back cover design and sports a new feature from Panasonic – Glide Play, in which the user can open apps in a window-on-screen mode and make them glide along while moving from one screen to the other.

It has a massive 6-inch HD screen with IPS and boasts 1GB of RAM. Total storage space is 16GB with a microSD slot for expansion up to 32GB. The camera is an 8-megapixel unit with LED flash, and can record in full HD. The front camera is 2 megapixel. It has a 2800mAh Lithium-Ion battery.
