WhatsApp blue tick marks – Rollback previous version to tackle
WhatsApp has just introduced a new feature which has caused many users to worry. The latest update of WhatsApp has been the inclusion of a feature that adds a blue colour to the tick marks when the receiver of the message has opened the message. This has haunted the individual privacy of the users.
This looks like it is something Facebook has introduced in WhatsApp after their 19 billion dollar purchase of the firm, as this feature is very similar to that of Facebook’s “seen at” feature when a user will be notified when the person he or she is chatting with reads their message.
This feature has now made it hard for users to manage relationships as there are often moments in life when we keep getting messages from various people but reply as per time and priorities.
However the blue tick mark now adds to our worries as it could result in souring of relationships. However, fortunately there are many ways to tackle this issue, and using a previous version of the app is one of them.
Users can easily ‘downgrade’ their version to a previous version of whatsapp when this feature was not even introduced, and that’s one of the solutions to protect your privacy.
There are many other ways to hide these double tick marks – one of them involves switching your phone to airplane mode or switching off data connection, as you will then be able to read the message without the reader getting blue tick marks, however this solution is only temporary because as soon as you go back to the normal mode the sender gets the ticks.
The only proper solution to this issue is to use the official feature that WhatsApp provides – go to settings, click on notifications, click on privacy, uncheck the box that says “sent seen” – doing this will not send double ticks to your sender, but even you won’t be able to see when people read your messages.
