Tata Zest Base variant to be launched in India on August 2014


Tata Motors has officially confirmed the launch of its much waited Zest sedan in the India in August 2014. Tata Zest by Tata Motor is one of the India's most awaited sedan with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology, debuted at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014.

It has been revealed that the base variant of the car will house a diesel engine with a peak power output of 75PS. A number of other engine configurations will be on offer, Tata leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that its upcoming offering finds favour among buyers in the Indian market.

Zest will be powered by a 1.3 litre Quadrajet motor, producing 90 PS power at 4,000 RPM and 200 Nm torque at 1,750-3,000 RPM and 1.2 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged Revotron engine, which can churn out a power of 85 PS at 5,000 RPM and a peak torque of 140 Nm at 1,750-3,000 RPM. It is likely to accommodate features like projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 15-inch alloy wheels, reverse parking sensor and corner stability control.


Tata Zest will be offered in four petrol and three diesel variants, and the price range is expected to fall between INR 5.5 lakhs to INR 7.6 lakhs.

Tata Motor's faced a fierce competition in the Indian market from its rivals and is gradually losing its dominance in the domestic market. But, with the launch of these new cars - Tata's sedan Zest and hatchback Bolt, Tata Motors is now expected to regain their position.
