Porsche launches Macan SUV in India at Rs 1 Crore

The Macan SUV from Porsche has been one of most anticipated luxury SUV in India. Earlier it was believed that the vehicle maybe launched in June, but after much speculations, Porsche has finally launched the Macan SUV in the Indian market. The Porsche Macan has been launched in two variants namely - Macan Turbo and Macan S. The SUV is offered at a lucrative starting price tag of about Rs. 1.0 Crore (Ex-showroom Delhi).

The Macan consists of seven speed and dual clutch with automatic transmission which will enable your vehicle to control gears much faster. It has the other name Cayenne Junior which means tiger. Its design is just like an aggressive, fast and controlled crossover car. First they thought of calling it like Mah-kan, but later it was decided that Makon will be better.

The Macan turbo petrol is powered by a 6 cylinder, 3.6-litre engine that produces 400 hp of power at 6000 rpm and 550 Nm of torque from 1350-4500 rpm. 0-100 km/h comes up in 4.8 seconds and the top speed is rated at 266 km/h. The Macan Turbo petrol has the same width and height as the diesel, but is 4699 mm in length and has a 2807 mm wheelbase.

Specially for markets like India, features such as air suspension system with ride height adjustment, fully variable all-wheel drive, lighting package, bi-xenon headlamps, three-zone climate control and electronically operated tailgate are offered as standard. Porsche entered India as an importer and the Volkswagen Group subsidiary now operates out of 7 dealerships in 7 different locations including, Mumbai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kochi.

The Porsche Macan has other competitors such as BMW X3, Land Rover Evoque and Mercedes Benz GLK series etc. But this one is expected to lead everyone else.
