iPhone 6 to be named 'iPhone Air', release date on September 25 : Report


Apple Inc.’s next iPhone will not be called iPhone 6. According to the latest rumours originating in China and doing the rounds across the global media, the upcoming iteration of the iPhone will be called iPhone Air, and not iPhone 6.

According to the report of China.com, China will be one of the first countries to purchase the device. The report added that the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 phablet will be coined as iPhone Air.

On Thursday, the Twitter handle of Chinese website iFanr (@ifanr) posted what they claim were the front glass panels of the two unreleased iPhones. The magazine also posted a video link of the new versions on YouKu, China’s biggest video site (YouTube remains largely inaccessible in China).

As far as pricing is concerned, the 32GB of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is reportedly price at 5,288 yuan ($850), while the 16GB version of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 costs 5,998 yuan ($965). If these prices are to believe, there is a slight price cut on the smartphones.
