Croma and Intel launch Windows 8.1 tablets starting Rs 13,990

Croma, the retail chain known for stocking all kinds of electronic goods, has partnered with one of the popular chipset makers Intel and has come up with 2 latest devices running on Microsoft's Windows 8.1 OS. The Croma 1179 tablet and the Croma 1177 2-in-1 hybrid tablet with a detachable keyboard, priced at Rs. 13,990 and Rs. 21,990 respectively.

The tablets will be available through Croma's retail stores and official website. Croma executives also informed that the company will sell the tablet online through another online partner, in the near future.

Both devices will be powered by Intel Atom Z3735D 1.33 GHz processors, which is the Bay Trail T chipset. The Croma 1179 is an 8-inch tablet featuring a 1280x800p display. The tablet runs Windows 8.1 operating system and have a 2 GB of RAM. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. It also has a microSD card slot, 32GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery.

The Croma 1172 is a 2-in-1 a 10.1-inch tablet. Croma says it can double up as a laptop when its keyboard is pulled out. It also runs on Windows 8.1 and an Intel Atom Z3735D processor. Croma 1172 is 3G ready and has Wi-Fi connectivity. It also has a 2-megapixel camera on the front and back.
