Harley Davidson Street 750 launched at Rs.4.1 Lakh

American bike-maker Harley-Davidson on Wednesday launched the Street 750 in India. At Rs. 4.1 lakh, this will be by far the cheapest Harley to be available in the country as the company revived its Street brand after 14 years to tap into a growing sub-5 lakh price bracket.

Talking about Harley-Davidson Street 750, Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India said, "We believe the new Street 750 will excite a new segment of urban riders in India who will appreciate the attention to detail and opportunity to experience the Harley-Davidson lifestyle at an accessible price point. We will continue to adopt and invest in strategies that make our products and ownership experience accessible to more enthusiasts and customers in India."

The booking for the latest bike will start from March 1 at its 13 showrooms across the country. Among the 13 models that the bike maker is selling in India, the Street 750 is the most "affordable" model, he said.

The Street 750 is based on a brand new platform. It uses a liquid cooled V-Twin motor which displaces 749cc. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission.

As far as dimensions go, the Street 750 is 2226mm long and 815mm wide. The seat height at 709mm should make it a comfortable perch as well. Ground clearance too at 144mm is percect for Indian riding conditions. The Street 750 also features MRF Zapper tyres in india.

The Street 750 will be built in the company's Haryana plant unlike the other nine models on offer which are assembled here from kits brought in from US.

Therefore, the savings have been transferred to the customer and the bike is available at Rs.4.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
