Samsung launches Galaxy Grand 2

South Korean mobile handset-maker Samsung on Monday launched its latest offering 'Galaxy Grand 2' in a price range of Rs. 22,990 to Rs. 24,990. The dual-SIM smartphone will be available in the market from first week of January next year. 

"This new Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 delivers an improved HD viewing experience, more powerful multi-tasking features, a premium experience through design and entertainment on the go," Samsung India country head, Mobile and IT, Vineet Taneja said.

A successor to Galaxy Grand, the new smartphone delivers HD viewing experience, and comes with more powerful multi-tasking features. Samsung, for the first time, has introduced a single destination—Club Samsung—for its Indian infotainment content. The Club Samsung digital entertainment store features music, movies & live TV.

The Galaxy Grand 2 has a 5.25-inch HD screen that allows users to open multiple windows. It will also allow for one application to be run in two windows at the same time, facilitating more productivity and collaboration across programs. The new My Magazine interface provides personalised news, social media and entertainment content experience. The phone also has a soft and textured-touch back cover and delicate stitching to its looks. It is also slimmer and lighter at 8.9 mm and 163 gram.

Key features of Grand 2 smartphone include an 8 megapixel camera and a bigger 5.25 inch 1280x720 TFT screen. The screen has a 16:9 HD ratio or a wide angle ratio, which is well-suited for movies, playing games, etc. It is a dual-SIM phone. The processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz and the smartphone has 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory. 

It has a microSD slot with 64 GB as the limit. The front camera is 1.9MP and is capable of shooting and recording in HD mode. The smartphones supports WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 version, GPS ＋ Glonass and USB 2.0. The smartphone runs Android 4.3 version. The batter is 2,600mAh and Samsung is promising 10 hours of playback and 17 hours of calls on the Galaxy Grand 2. Sensors on the list include: Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass, Light, Hall Sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is expected to be released in India sometime in January next year.
