Asus Fonepad Tablet now Available for Buying at Rs 17,999
Recently Samsung announced their latest tablets on Galaxy Tab 3 range and on top of that Google also eventually announced their massively power packed 2nd Generation Nexus 7.
However, making way in a similar manner, Asus had outed their tablet with voice calling facility back in April this year.
An upgraded version of the Asus FonePad featuring a better processor and 32GB internal memory has shown up in India unofficially through an online retailer and is already available for purchase.
The previously-released variant of the Asus gadget relied on a 1.2GHz Intel processor, but the slate in question boasts of a CPU clocking in a speed of 1.6GHz.
The new Asus FonePad even allows owners to expand its storage further by up to 32GB using a microSD card. A 7-inch capacitive LED-backlit IPS 10-point multi-touch screen dominates the front surface and works towards projecting visuals in 1280 x 800p resolution.
And as it operates with the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean 4.1, the voice calling tab with a SIM card slot should have a responsive interface too.
When the Asus FonePad was first shown off at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, a number of features stood out. The Intel Atom processor, aluminum back casing and rear facing camera were some of the key differences that distinguished it from what would easily be mistaken for a Google Nexus 7, also an Asus creation in collaboration with Google.
But of greatest intrigue would be the slate’s GSM voice calling capability, which is further highlighted by the presence of a voice speaker located above the display. In this review, we examine the practicality of using such an appreciably sized device as a mobile phone, and whether or not these increasingly common super-7” sized ‘phablet’ devices have a place in the market.
