Rolls Royce Ghost Series II launched in India; priced at Rs. 4.5 Crore


The epitome of luxury and performance, Rolls Royce has updated its Ghost Series for the Indian market. The price of the standard Series II is tagged at Rs. 4.5 crore while the extended wheelbase variant will cost Rs. 5.5 crore, (Ex-showroom, pan India). The Second Series was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year followed by New York Auto Show. The new Ghost Series has prominent changes inside out which were missing in the earlier version; however, it continues to sport the same powertrain under the bonnet.

The ultra-premium offering from Rolls Royce sees noticeable changes outside, lending more impact on the onlookers. The front facade with the signature grille now sport LED headlights replacing the earlier rounded lamps along with daytime running lights, which makes the overall front profile eye catchy. The bonnet line also sees slight modification while the bumper design has been re-sculpted, further enhancing the aggressiveness. Besides these, the front profile is highlighted by chrome inserts on the air dam. The super luxury car now comes with 19-inch chrome studded alloy wheels that comes as standard while one can also opt for 20-inch alloys for raised stance. The rear portion gets revamped taillights adding more to the character. Ghost Series II is now available with new exterior color options.

The interior ergonomics have been updated. The car now gets improved adjustability for the seats with heating option for both front and rear passengers. As the vehicle is known for ample customization options, one can now choose 2 more wood veneers to give luxurious appeal to the entire cabin. The instruments inside have been revised, accentuated with polished metal chaplets and the wi-fi infotainment system is updated with 10-inch HD multimedia screen that can be operated via touchpad controller. Other than these, the luxury car comes with endless list of comfy features like advance AC unit with heater and pollen filter, Head-up Display, rear privacy glass, picnic table, window curtains, and not to forget the “Ghost CC Bespoke Clock”, which is probably the most attractive part of the cabin. There are also optional features for the interested buyers which include rear seat entertainment package, rear compartment telephone, garage door opener, etc.


The luxury cum supercar gets the same powerful 6.6 liter V12 engine that propels 563bhp of power and exhilarating torque of 79.5kgm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic navigation-guided transmission system that chooses the required gear based on the terrain. With the powerful engine and sophisticated transmission on board, the car needs just 4.7 seconds to reach the 100kmph mark, hitting the electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

Ghost Series II will be available at Rolls Royce’s five dealerships across the country. Bentley Mulsanne is the conventional rival of this luxury car. Besides Ghost, Rolls Royce also offers Phantom and Wraith cars for the elite buyers in India. The BMW owned company will be expanding the number of dealerships in coming years as it has been long cherished by the industrialists and celebrities alike.
