Panasonic Eluga S auto selfie smartphone launched at Rs. 11,190
Expanding its new Eluga series, Panasonic has launched a new selfie-focused smartphone, Eluga S, at Rs 11,190. The phone will be available starting third week of November.
The new Eluga S comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and runs on a 1.4 GHz true octa-core processor with 1 GB RAM. Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, it offers 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB.
The Panasonic Eluga S sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash which it can record full-HD (1080p) videos at 30 frames per second. With Eluga S, the company has introduced a Blink Play feature that automatically initiates a three-second countdown for capturing selfies from the front 5-megapixel camera when the user blinks, says Panasonic.
The phone is just 7.9mm thick and is built in unibody, which means Panasonic had to compromise with the battery. Eluga S is backed up with a 2100mAh non-removable battery, which is a shortcoming for a phone that features a few power consuming sensors.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim phone offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Commenting on the launch, Manish Sharma, managing director, Panasonic India said "We are sure that Panasonic's Eluga smartphone range has certainly raised the bar of standard to a great level and has the potential to succeed in the Indian market. This is the third phone is the Eluga series which defines our willingness to embrace new technology in a market like India. As we launch new devices, we will continue to innovate for our customers."
