Lava Iris Fuel 50 with a powerful 3000 mAh battery launched at Rs. 7799

Lava has launched the Iris Fuel 50 smartphone under the company's new Iris Fuel range, priced at Rs. 7,799. The smartphone will be available starting Friday for the Indian market in Black colour.

The new Lava phone sports a 5.0-inch FWVGA (480x854p) screen and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM and a 8GB inbuilt memory.

As the name implies, Iris Fuel 50 boasts a high-capacity 3,000 mAh battery, which can power the phone for close to 17 hours of talk time and close to 370 (15 days) hours under standby mode.

On the camera front, it houses 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear-side with dual LED flash, HDR, auto-focus and a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front-side.

The phone offers gesture driven features as well. For instance, the user may double tap the screen to wake up from sleep mode, the user may draw certain letters on the display in sleep mode and link these with one of the various tasks within the device.

The user may just draw “C” to open up camera application, draw “M” for music application so on and so forth. All these are customizable and the user can set these up based on their choice.

The super-efficient smartphones under this series are specially designed to last for long working hours without the need of frequent charging, Lava said in a statement.

"Amidst the hardware progression that has happened ever since smartphone category was introduced, battery has remained a cause of concern with the users throughout. Smartphones are increasingly becoming a very integral part of our daily lives and drive a lot of tasks for us," Lava International Chairman and Managing Director Hari Om Rai said.

Devices that are able to support heavy usage without having the need to carry power banks for frequent charging are needed, he added.

"Our new Fuel series of smartphones will address just that. We shall soon come up with more products at different price points in this series," he added.
