Gionee Elife E3 gets Android 4.4.2 KitKat update with 9 indian languages

Gionee has announced the Android KitKat 4.4.2 update for ELife E3. The smartphone has also added nine local Indian languages – Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu.

The company confirmed the news on the official blog (G Cafe),  detailing the installation procedure and the new features of the new Android 4.4 KitKat.

Unlike other companies, Gionee is releasing a downloadable file on the website instead of OTA (Over-The-Air) process, which would have been simpler for novice smartphone users.

Users with no technical knowledge of manual installation are advised to take their devices to authorised service centers and get their phones updated. Others who know a thing or two about phone flashing can log in to Gionee's website and download the file. The company has even provided installation guide with screen shots.



The update for the Gionee Elife E3 also brings other features, including an update to several apps, including UC Browser with optimised UI and page loading effects, Texas Poker, WeChat app with new user interface, Saavn, NQ Mobile Security, Kingsoft Office, GioneeXender for better overall performance, and Amigo Paper app.

In addition, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Elife E3 also adds the CamCard app through which users can scan business cards for quick addition to their contact lists. Touchpal, an input method for typing, also comes with the OS update.
