Oppo N1, R1 smartphones receive price cuts in India

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has reduced the price of its Oppo N1 smartphone, which features a rotating camera module, to Rs 32,990 from Rs 37,990. It has also slashed the price of Oppo R1 to Rs 24,990 from its original price of Rs 26,990.

The Oppo N1 was launched back in January, equipped with some pretty powerful components. The phone has a 5.9-inch design and its main highlight is its rotatable 13MP camera which can be flipped from the rear to the front, making it the ultimate selfie device. The smartphone boasts of a 1080p display and packs a 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor on the inside. It runs on the Color OS which is a highly customized version of Android 4.2. Additionally, a variant with CyanogenMod is also available.

On the other hand, Oppo R1 has a has a 5 inch display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 16 GB internal storage, a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, and 1 GB RAM. The Oppo R1 has also a good looking 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with BSI CMOS censor and F2.0 aperture. Also, it has something called PI camera engine that claims to reduce noise and produce clear and vivid night images. The front 5 megpiaxel camera with wide angle lens is also expected to be better than most of its competitors. The dual SIM smartphone has also WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS.

To remind you, Oppo Mobiles India currently retails in 20 cities in India including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Pune and Lucknow, however you can buy the company’s devices from e-retailers for use in other cities.

The company has also stated that it will be targeting a mix of multi-brand retail and channel partners, small format stores and self-branded stores for the network expansion drive.
