Nokia Lumia 630 dual sim smartphone launched at 11,500
Nokia, now a subsidiary of Microsoft on Monday (12 May) officially launched the company's first ever dual-SIM Windows Phone OS powered smartphone, Lumia 630 in India. Nokia has launched the Lumia 630 in India with two models, starting at Rs 10,500. The dual-SIM variant of the phone will be priced at Rs 11,500. The Lumia 630 is also the first device in India with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
"The Nokia Lumia 630 is expected to roll out in May, beginning with Asia, India/Middle East, South America and Europe, at USD 159 for the single-SIM variant, and USD 169 for the dual-SIM variant before taxes and subsidies," Nokia had earlier said in a statement.
Both single SIM and dual SIM variants of Lumia 630 have similar specifications and dimensions. You get a 4.5-inch touchscreen (854 x 480 pixels), changeable rear shells and a 1.2Ghz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor. Other specifications include 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD slot (support up to 128GB cards) and a 1,830mAh battery. It has a 5MP autofocus rear camera that does 720p HD video recording but lacks a front camera. It weighs 134 grams and is also the first Lumia with 3G Dual SIM support.
On the operating system front, Windows Phone 8.1 gives you a new keyboard with swipe functionality, a new action center and a number of personalization options. It inlcudes a bundle of services including Mix Radio, Camera, Here Maps and Here Drive with turn-by-turn navigation directions. The devices also come with low power motion sensors that work in conjunction with various health and fitness apps to track your steps, distance travelled and calories burnt.
It will be competing with the newly launched Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 and also the upcoming Motorola Android phone Moto E which fall under the same price range. Nokia has also launched the Treasure Tag Bluetooth accessory and a Bluetooth mini-speaker for the Indian market. The Treasure Tag, which can be programmed to perform various actions, and can also be used as a security device for your phone, is priced at Rs 2,099 and will be available from May 31. The Bluetooth speakers will be available for Rs 5,499 from late June onwards.
