Mad Max Game delayed until 2015, new trailer released
It's been almost 30 years since we escaped Thunderdome. The world has been without Mad Max for too long. The fourth Mad Max film, Mad Max: Fury Road has been in production for what seems like decades, despite us getting constant updates about the shooting of George Miller's next installment in the franchise. All sorts of issues have plagued it but it seems like we'll finally see it, eventually. But gamers were waiting for something else in the meantime. At E3 last year Avalanche Studios, the developers of the brilliant Just Cause series, surprised the world with their announcement of a Mad Max game. Seeing as though the folks already know their way around destruction better than almost any other developer out there, they seemed the perfect fit. But now we're going to have to wait a little longer- the game has been delayed till 2015.
Avalanche Studios unveiled a teaser at last year’s E3 for an upcoming Mad Max game. They’ve been keeping further details locked down since then, but with E3 coming up, they’re ready to tell us more.
As Mad Max fans have assumed, cars will play a big role in the game. More specifically, though, car customization will play a role. You’re not going to be rolling around in Max’s iconic Interceptor with all the accessories bolted on for you. The Max-mobile is stolen from you pretty early into the game, and you have to build up a new car from scratch.
The trailer also features presumably in-engine graphics showing off some impressive car destruction. Constant repair, customization, and a general automotive focus could be a cool wrinkle that sets Mad Max’s open world apart from so many other games.
