Lenovo Thinkpad 8 : A real business tablet
Lenovo's new Windows tablet is a top-tier business device at an affordable price. The $399 slate debuted at CES International this week, and it's almost everything a business user could want in a compact tablet. That includes a sharp display, a fast processor, long battery life and the full version of Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system.
The ThinkPad 8 runs Windows 8.1, and packs a powerful 2.4 GHz Intel Atom processor (Bay Trail processor) along with eight hours of battery life.
Lenovo also crammed a 1980 x 1200, 8.3-inch display into this new ThinkPad tablet, so images and text look sharp.
Speaking of cameras, the rear unit is an 8MP shooter, while the front-facing camera is a 2MP unit.
Moreover, the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 will come in 3G/LTE variants with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options. We wish that 64GB and 128GB storage options would become standard for most mobile devices, actually, so this is great.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 measures 8.8mm thick, so it doesn't feel too fat, but it also weighs in at 0.92 pounds, which makes it feel like it has some serious substance.
For consumers, this one offers even more utility. A PC wherever you go, whenever you want, without much compromise. Lenovo promises up to 8 hours battery life, which we sadly couldn’t task, but we’re not doubting that - yet.
