Nimbuzz Makes International Calling more Cheap

Instant messaging platform Nimbuzz has joined hands with Internet service provider Spectranet to launch a low cost Internet-powered international calling platform with rates as low as one paise per second.

Spectranet's 'hello ip' service, which is powered by Nimbuzz, will allow the chat platform's users make affordable international calls from across India to all over the world.

The service is only applicable for international calling from India. However, you can’t call from overseas to India with this service as Spectranet has legal premission from Govt. of India for this operations and the legal framework of overseas countries do not permit them to generate call from those countries.

The Nimbuzz application helps users make calls through voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology. It can be downloaded on a mobile device or a desktop and calls can be made using WiFi, third-generation (3G) and 2G networks. To make calls, a user will be able to buy vouchers, recharge online, and through credit and debit cards.

Until now Nimbuzz users in India could do peer-to-peer calling, but now they will be able to make calls to any international landline or mobile number. Other companies such as Viber, Line and Skype also offer free peer-to-peer calling.

"The service can be used across all data networks and Wi-Fi starting Tuesday. Nimbuzz and Spectranet hello ip have also set up 24x7 calling email support to assist users with their concerns around Spectranet hello ip powered by Nimbuzz," Spectranet hello ip CEO Udit Mehrotra said.
Commenting on being the first player to offer international calling at unbeatable rates, Vikas Saxena, CEO, Nimbuzz, said,“Nimbuzz has always believed in creating an ecosystem that brings the world together. We are extremely confident that our partnership with Spectranet hello ip will allow our Indian users to reach out to their loved ones across the world without cost concerns. The Spectranet hello ip is a unique proposition that allows Nimbuzz users to make international calls at rates almost 450% less than those that are available in the market today.’’

The service can be used across all data networks and Wi-Fi starting today. This launch is timely as festival season is in progress and Indians now have the opportunity to call their loved ones residing abroad wihout watching their watches as the calling price is very cheap.
