Asus launches Transformer book T100 and Fonepad 7 at Rs. 34099 and 17499
Taiwan-based computer products maker ASUS today launched an Android-based 7-inch phablet called the ASUS 'Fonepad 7' – with voice calling facility - at a price of Rs 17,499 targetted at young consumers in the country. The company also launched a Windows 8.1 OS based tablet-cum-laptop 'Transformer Book T100' at a competitive price of Rs 34,099.
The affordable ASUS Transformer Book T100 is a compact ultraportable powered by the new Intel Atom quad-core processor features a 10.1-inch HD display. ASUS Fonepad 7 is an updated version of the 7-inch Android device with full voice telephony for people who want smartphone features with a tablet-size screen.
Transformer Book T100 is not only one of the lightest laptops currently available at just 1.07kg, but also one of the lightest 10-inch tablets around, at 550g.
Just 10.5mm thin in tablet mode, Transformer Book T100 has 10.1-inch display has a crisp 1366 x 768 resolution and features IPS technology for wide 178-degree viewing angles with excellent daylight visibility. Capacitive multi-touch gives fine fingertip control in tablet mode, while exclusive ASUS ‘Reading Mode’ technology adjusts the display automatically to make the screen easier to read for long periods.
Transformer Book T100 also features ASUS Instant On technology for the kind of instant response that people have come to expect from tablets. It wakes from standby in an instant and lasts for up to 14 days in standby mode.
The Fonepad 7 has a 1280×800 pixel IPS display, 16GB internal storage along with support for the microSD card. It features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera. Running on Android v4.2, this 7-inch tablet has a 3,950mAh battery, which the company claims can offer 28 hours of talk time or 10 hours of tablet usage.
Fonepad 7 is powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology for seamless multi-tasking performance with Android 4.2. The 7-inch display has a crisp 1280 x 800 resolution with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology for wide viewing angles and excellent daylight visibility, while dual-front speakers with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology ensure high-quality sound.
Just 10.5mm thick and with a low 340g weight, ASUS Fonepad 7 is highly portable, but perfect for entertainment on the go. A new smudge-resistant coating helps keep fingerprints at bay on the 7-inch screen display and Miracast wireless video streaming mirrors the display to compatible HDTVs for big-screen enjoyment.
