Smsung launches a new regional language User interface app in 9 indian languages


Samsung Electronics which is very famous for it's smartphone, now announced that it's galaxy range of smartphone will now support content and user interface in nine Indian languages. These nine languages are Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. These indian languages will support on Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S4 and Tab 3.

Vineet Taneja, country head, Samsung Mobile India said that it aims to bring the Android experience to the masses with local language support. This iniative is aimed at first-time internet users and non-English speaking masses of the company, he said.

The Company said that Galaxy Star will supporting the same from this month, while rest of the devices in the portfolio will be able to provide content and the interface over the next two months.

"Access to regional language content will not only give a strong fillip to data consumption on the mobile platform, but will empower millions of Indians who are not fluent in English. The industry as a whole needs to take this initiative forward with the developers creating good quality content, service providers giving attractive packages to boost data consumption and manufacturers improving the overall mobile experience. I see Indian mobile telephony on the threshold of a new wave, driven by not only data consumption in English but in regional languages as well" said Kiran Karnik, chairman, National Committee on Telecom and & Broadband , CII.

Users can now access to the samsung app store in local languages under categories like games, entertainment, lifestyle etc.
