Samsung Galaxy gear smart watch's screen shot leak
The notorious phone leaker, @evleaks has published two screenshots of the alleged Gear Manager companion app for the Galaxy Gear smart watch on Twitter. The tweet includes the screenshots and says "It's coming..." The screenshots reveal some details about how the companion app would possibly function and its various features.
The screenshots confirm that the Galaxy Gear will indeed have NFC connectivity that can be used to pair it with compatible Android smartphones. Users will also be able to change clock faces and it will support some apps that will be featured on Samsung’s own app store.
SamMobile received a tip claiming to spill the beans on the Galaxy Gear’s specifications, and if they’re on the money it’s a reasonably powerful device – about as capable as a mid-range smartphone, in fact. The tipster says the watch will be powered by an ARM-based, Samsung-designed Exynos 4212 dual-core chip running at 1.5GHz and backed up with 1GB of RAM.
Given the Galaxy branding, it’s fairly obvious that the Gear will run on Android – but which version is still unclear. GigaOM’s report says that both 4.1 and 4.2 Jelly Bean have been used in prototype models.
Earlier, a Samsung official had confirmed that the company will unveil the next generation Galaxy Note device and the long-rumoured Samsung smart watch at an event on September 4.
