Asus Transformer Book TX300 launched in India

Asus has launched the Transformer Book TX 300 in India for Rs 91,999, which is the world’s first detachable Windows 8 UltraBook and tablet.

The product features a 13.3-inch full HD IPS touchscreen display and features an Intel i5 processor, but unfortunately the chipset in question is not the latest Haswell fourth generation chipset, but is rather the third generation Ivy Bridge version. It utilises the onboard Intel graphics and also has 4GB of RAM.

Interestingly, it offers an hybrid combination of a 500GB HDD and a 128GB SSD which is rather unique and generous. Other features of the UltraBook include Bang & Olufson speakers that are powered by Asus’s Sonic master technology. The hybrid even features twin cameras that include a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 720p front facing camera.

In spite of the impressive feature set we are not sold on the pricing of the product considering it is not powered by the latest generation Intel chipset which offers massive improvements in terms of battery life.
