Whatsapp for desktop is coming soon : Report

Recent report by AndroidWorld suggests that world popular instant messaging service WhatsApp is developing a web version of the app, which will allow you to use the service on desktop too.

The report followed Pavel Durov's revelations about strings in the code of WhatsApp that suggest of a web version. Paul Durov is co-founder of a rival messaging app Telegram.

While WhatsApp has yet to make any official mention of a web version of its popular messaging app, a recent discovery by the team at AndroidWorld.nl appears to back up Durov's suspicions.

The guys on AndroidWorld.nl have delved into the app's APK and uncovered some interesting strings. These seem to have been removed from recent updates but were still included in the 2.11.471 WhatsApp version.

They contain several mentions of "WhatsApp Web," logging in and out of computers, and hints about tracking your status and latest activity in the web session.

It's still not definite proof, but it certainly looks like the WhatsApp team is at least exploring some sort of web functionality.
