Twitter app graph tracks the apps installed on your phone


The micro blogging site Twitter has announced a new tool called 'app graph' to track which apps are installed on your smartphone to deliver tailored content that you might be interested in.

Twitter says that it only collects the list of application installed in the phone not data within the apps.

The information, which Twitter calls a person's "graph data" will be used to build a more personal Twitter experience for users with relevant advertising and improved suggestions on which accounts to follow.

Users will be notified about app graph feature will be turned on their account by a prompt that says to help tailor your experience, Twitter uses the apps on your device. Until you see this prompt, this setting is turned off and Twitter is not collecting a list of your apps.

You can easily disable this feature and remove data from Twitter. For Android device you need to go through Settings>Account>Other>Tailor Twitter based on my apps. For iOS device Settings>Account>Privacy>Tailor Twitter based on my apps.
