New Voice Search update for Android

We all know that Apple is known for incorporating voice commands via Siri software on its iPhones. Now Google has followed the same way with activating voice commands support for Android for Google.

Yesterday Google in an official post on its Google Plus page said that it is bring new features to Google Now, that includes some updated cards and traffic incidents. The main news however is that Google has added voice search to its Google Search Android app now. You can now use your voice to search and more, of your Android phone and tablet.

With the new feature added your Android phones and tablets will behave line iPhones as you can now search using your voice. Instead of typing, you can now speak and search the web and your phone, call your contacts, send emails, get directions and listen to music.


When you don't provide enough information for a command, Google will now verbally ask for clarification. You can give it an open ended command, like "send a text message," and Google will ask who you want to send the message to. You can then state a name and it will ask what the message should be. When Google has all the info it needs, it will ask if you're ready to send the message. It's all very Siri-like.

With the Google Now updated, you can now use the Website update card to bring you things like the latest post so you’ll never miss a story. The News topic card brings you fresh articles from the web on topics you care about. What to watch card will give you Movie and TV recommendations when you’re staying in. There are a few other great additions like,seeing traffic incidents on your commute using real-time data from Waze, set repeat reminders, get real time scores for rugby teams, and also see when your packages are ready for in-store pickup.
