Aircel testing 4G Service in Andhra Pradesh



Mobile network operator Aircel is currently conducting trials of Long-Term Evolution (4G) services in Andhra Pradesh but it will take a while before they are commercially launched, a top official said. 

"The trials are currently on but we don't have the required ecosystem, including the 4G-enabled mobile handsets, to launch the services commercially," Deepinder Tiwana, AP circle business head of Aircel, told reporters here. 

The company recently offered the offer pack called ‘Paanch ka Dum’ which is a unique voice pack for its customers in Andhra Pradesh. This pack offered consumers to select any one of the voice benefit from- community calling 5AM to 5PM free, community calling at 1p/ 6 seconds, Half paise local calls, Half paise Local + STD Call and ISD, in Rs. 5 only.

Aircel has got 4G spectrum in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, North-East, Jammu & Kashmir.

Reliance, which also has 4G spectrum in Andhra Pradesh, is expected to roll out the services by this year end.
