Sony 4k Ultra HD media player Review and Specification : Techmistory

Sony's FMP-X1, 4K Ultra HD Media Player device can be ordered online Monday for $699, and it will hit store shelves on July 15. The term 4K, also known as Ultra HD, describes a resolution that is four times greater than 1080p resolution — which is what you find on many HD TVs today. Those TV owners can also check online to see if their 4K TV qualifies for access to Sony's premium 4K movie content.

Sony confirmed the name of its 4K video download service: Video Unlimited 4K, which will sit neatly alongside the Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited streaming services.
