Audi RS5 2013 launched
India's leading luxury carmaker, Audi India has today launched the 2013 RS5 in India at Rs 95.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The RS5 is basically a sports version of the A5, which is already on sale in India, but the company has now facelifted the vehicle to make it an even sportiers and better than its predecessor. The similar vehicle was first unveiled at the last year's Geneva Motor Show.
Though the 2013 RS5 is based on the A5 platform, it's wider and lower than the later. Mechanically, the car remains the same, deriving its power from a naturally aspirated, 4.2-litre V8 all-aluminium, directly injection engine, it churns out the maximum power output of 444bhp and 430Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted to all four-wheels via company's popular Quattro all-wheel drive system via mated to a seven speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. It touches the 0-100kmph mark in only 4.5 seconds, and attains a top-speed of 280kmph.
Having received changes both inside and out, the 2013 RS5 has got more stylish and sportier in looks than the outgoing version. The car now has redesigned bonnet contours, bumpers, LED tail lights and newly designed 19-inch alloys. While inside the cabin, it receives a new RS three-spoke steering wheel, tweaks to the AC controls, gear level, instrument stalks, mirror adjustment and electric window switchgear. In addition to the aforementioned changes, the car now has crusise control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a DVD based satellite nav and iPOD connection as standard.
The optional equipment offered with the new RS5 include heated and cooled seats, a sports suspension with dynamic ride control, variable damper, a Bang and Olufsen sound system and Audi Drive select driving dynamic system.
